RRS EYE

RRS under eye treatment is an injectable approach to the delicate skin around the eyes, used when the area looks tired, dry or shadowed rather than sagging. At our clinic in Muscat, it is offered as part of our under-eye rejuvenation options for patients in Oman who want to improve the quality of the skin itself (its hydration, brightness and texture) without changing the shape of the eye area.
What is RRS under eye treatment?
RRS is a range of injectable mesotherapy solutions, and RRS HA Eyes is the formulation developed specifically for the thin skin of the eyelids and the area below the eye as described by the manufacturer. It is delivered through a series of very fine, superficial injections spread across the under-eye area, so the solution sits within the skin rather than being placed deep to add volume.
The intention is skin conditioning: better hydration, a fresher surface and a gradual improvement in the fine crepey lines that appear when the skin around the eye becomes dry and thin. Because it works on skin quality, the change tends to be subtle and cumulative rather than immediate.
What RRS HA Eyes is used for: dark circles, dryness and fine lines
Patients usually come to us with one of four complaints: shadows under the eyes, dryness, fine lines, or a generally tired look that makeup no longer covers. RRS under eye injections are used to address the skin-related part of that picture.
- Brightening: helps reduce the appearance of dark circles where dull, dehydrated skin is part of the cause.
- Hydration: deeply hydrates under-eyes that look dry and tired.
- Rejuvenation: improves fine lines and overall skin quality.
- Refreshing: helps the eye area look smoother and fresher.
It is worth understanding what causes your own dark circles before treating them. Shadows can come from pigmentation in the skin, from very thin skin that lets underlying vessels show through, from the natural hollow of the tear trough casting a shadow, or from fluid retention, allergy, thyroid issues and chronic lack of sleep. A treatment aimed at skin quality can help the first two categories; a hollow or persistent puffiness usually needs a different plan, which is exactly what the consultation is for. Puffiness in particular is not something an injectable skin booster reliably corrects.
Who is suitable: and who should avoid it
RRS under eye treatment tends to suit adults whose under-eye skin looks dry, dull or finely lined, including people in their late twenties onwards who notice the area ageing before the rest of the face. It also suits patients who prefer a conservative, gradual option over anything volumising.
It is not appropriate for everyone. Our doctor will usually postpone or advise against treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection, inflammation, eczema or cold sore outbreak near the eye, have a bleeding disorder or take blood-thinning medication, have a history of keloid scarring, or have a known allergy to any component of the solution. Marked eyelid swelling, a very prominent under-eye hollow or loose eyelid skin are signs that another approach (or a medical assessment of the underlying cause) should come first. Suitability is always decided in person, not from a photograph.
What happens during an RRS eye session at our Muscat clinic
The session begins with an assessment of the eye area under good light, a short medical history and a discussion of what is realistic for your skin. The area is then cleansed, and a topical numbing cream is normally applied to make the injections more comfortable, though the eye area is sensitive and you should expect to feel the needle.
The solution is injected in small amounts across the treatment area using a very fine needle. Most of the appointment time is preparation; the injecting part is short. Afterwards the skin is cleansed again and you are given cold compresses if needed. The number of sessions and the spacing between them depend on your skin and are planned after the assessment; we do not commit to a fixed course before seeing you.
Aftercare, possible side effects and what to expect over time
Expect the treated area to look slightly red or a little swollen straight after the appointment. Small raised bumps at the injection points usually settle within hours to a day, and small bruises are possible in this area because the skin is thin and vascular. Rarely, tenderness lasts a few days, and as with any injection there is a small risk of infection or an allergic reaction; contact us if anything worsens rather than improves.
For the first 24 hours, avoid makeup on the area, heat, saunas, intense exercise and rubbing the eyes. Use sunscreen and a hat outdoors; sun exposure in Oman is a major contributor to pigmentation around the eyes. Results appear gradually as the skin condition improves, vary from person to person, and are maintained rather than fixed: sleep, sun protection and skincare all influence how long the improvement holds.
RRS under eye vs under-eye filler and other options
Under-eye filler is a cross-linked gel placed deeper to fill a hollow and change contour. RRS works in the opposite direction: it stays superficial and treats skin quality, without adding structure. If your main issue is a shadow caused by a hollow, filler may be discussed; if it is dry, dull, finely lined skin, a skin booster approach makes more sense.
We also offer other routes to the same area, and sometimes combine them: Meso Eye Glow and under-eye glowing with PDRN are injectable alternatives, while Fotona SmoothEye uses laser energy for eyelid skin tightening. Broader mesotherapy can address the face as a whole.
What RRS under eye costs in Oman
The cost depends on what your assessment shows: the size of the area treated, whether more than one session is planned and whether it is combined with another treatment. For that reason we quote after a consultation rather than publishing a figure. You will be given the full cost before anything is booked.
