Vascular Laser in Muscat: Visible Veins and Facial Vessels

A vascular laser works on one thing: blood vessels close enough to the surface to see. That covers the fine red or purple lines on the legs, the thread vessels across the cheeks and around the nose, and the small reticular veins behind the knee. At Azura Clinic in Sarooj, Muscat the same Fotona vascular laser is used for all of them by a specialist dermatologist, and the first job of the consultation is deciding whether what you have is a surface problem or something underneath it.

Two Different Problems, and This Treatment Solves One of Them

This distinction decides whether you should book a laser session or an assessment, and it is the most useful thing on this page.

• Surface vessels. Fine lines you can see but cannot feel: spider veins, thread veins, the red vessels that make a nose or cheek look flushed. The laser heats the vessel, it closes, and the body clears it. This is what the treatment is for, and it does it well.
• True varicose veins. Ropey, bulging veins you can see standing up and feel with your fingers, usually with symptoms: heaviness or aching by the end of the day, swelling at the ankle, itching along the vein. These come from valves inside a deeper vein that have stopped working, so the blood pools. A surface laser treats what you see, not the valve that caused it, which is why treating them cosmetically tends to end with them coming back.

We say this plainly because the honest answer sometimes costs us the sale: if the picture fits the second group, the right first step is a vascular assessment, usually with an ultrasound scan of the leg veins, not a laser session. Signs That Deserve an Assessment Before Anything Cosmetic

• Legs that ache, throb or feel heavy by the evening, better when you raise them.
• Swelling at the ankle, especially one side more than the other.
• A vein you can feel as a cord when you stand.
• Brown staining, hardening or eczema of the skin low on the leg, above the ankle.
• A sore or ulcer near the ankle that is slow to heal.
• A previous blood clot in a leg vein, or a close family history of one.

None of these means a laser can never help you. It means the cause should be known first, so that whatever is done afterwards lasts.

Redness on the Face Is Usually Two Things at Once

Most people who come about facial redness have a mixture: a few individual vessels you can trace with your eye, sitting on a background of general flushing. The laser is excellent at the first and does not fix the second. Background redness that comes and goes with heat, sun, spice, exercise or stress behaves like rosacea, and rosacea is managed rather than cured: the vessels can be cleared, but the tendency stays and the triggers matter. What It Costs, and What the Session Is Like

Treatment is with the Fotona vascular laser by a specialist dermatologist: Fotona vascular removal, 45 OMR to 245 OMR. The price follows the size and depth of the vessels and how large an area is involved, so the figure is confirmed after the leg or the face has been looked at.

The sensation is usually described as a brief warm snap. Nothing is cut and there are no stitches. Afterwards the treated vessels look darker or slightly bruised before they fade, which is normal and is the body clearing them, and that takes time rather than days. Results arrive gradually, and how many sessions and how far apart is set for your vessels at the consultation rather than sold as a course. For legs, expect to be asked about standing at work and about support stockings; for the face, sun protection on the treated area is not optional, because heat and sun bring vessels back. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you take blood thinners, if you have a clotting condition, and if you have an active skin infection or a wound over the area, because any of those changes the plan.
