RF Fractional for Stretch Marks

What Is RF Fractional for Stretch Marks?
RF fractional for stretch marks is a non-surgical skin remodeling treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy to target stretch marks at their root — deep within the skin’s dermis layer. At Azura Clinic in Muscat, this advanced approach is used to visibly fade and smooth stretch marks across areas like the abdomen, thighs, hips, arms, and breasts.
Stretch marks — medically called striae — form when the skin’s supportive structure tears under rapid stretching. That’s why surface-only treatments rarely deliver lasting results. RF fractional works differently: it rebuilds that structure from within.
How Does It Work?
The treatment uses ultra-fine needles to create tiny microchannels in the skin — controlled, microscopic injuries that trigger your body’s natural healing response. At the same time, radiofrequency energy (a form of heat) is delivered precisely into the deeper dermis.
This dual action stimulates the production of collagen and elastin — the proteins that give your skin its strength, firmness, and bounce. Over the weeks that follow, stretch mark tissue gradually remodels: becoming lighter, smoother, and significantly less visible.
A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep you comfortable. You can expect mild redness and slight swelling for one to three days — most people return to their normal routine quickly. Multiple sessions are recommended, spaced several weeks apart, to allow the skin time to fully remodel between each visit.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
You may be an excellent candidate for RF fractional stretch mark removal in Muscat if you have stretch marks from pregnancy, rapid weight change, growth spurts, or bodybuilding. The treatment works on both red or purple striae (newer marks) and white or silver striae (older, more established marks).
It is suitable for most skin types. During your consultation at Azura Clinic, your doctor will assess the area, your skin’s healing profile, and your goals to create a personalised treatment plan.
This treatment may not be suitable if you are pregnant, have active skin infections in the target area, or have certain healing conditions. Your provider will review your health history carefully before recommending any protocol. You can learn more about our medical team at Azura Clinic’s Our Doctors page.
What Results Can You Expect?
Results from RF fractional collagen remodeling in Oman build gradually — and that’s a good sign. It means your skin is doing the real work of repair and regeneration. Most patients notice improved texture and tone within a few weeks of their first session, with more significant fading after a full course of treatment.
You can typically expect:
- Reduction in the depth and width of stretch marks
- Smoother, more even skin texture
- Less colour contrast between stretch marks and surrounding skin
- Improved firmness in treated areas
- Long-lasting results as collagen continues to build over months
Research published on PubMed supports the effectiveness of RF microneedling in improving the appearance of striae through collagen remodeling and dermal restructuring.

Aftercare Tips
Good aftercare makes a real difference to your results. Following your RF fractional session, keep these guidelines in mind:
- Expect mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling for up to 72 hours — this is completely normal
- Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser and avoid scrubs or active skincare ingredients for at least five days
- Skip hot baths, saunas, and intense exercise for 48 hours to protect the treated skin
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher if the area may be exposed to sunlight
- Wear loose, breathable clothing over the treated area while it heals
- Avoid massage, friction, or scratching the skin during recovery
Before your session, avoid sun exposure and tanning for seven days, and pause any retinoids or exfoliating acids in the target area for three to five days beforehand. Always inform your provider of any medications or skin conditions.
